Ways for teacher to manage minor misbehaviors:
Frequently roam the class so that being nearby can reduce misbehavior Teach the students to recognize non-verbal signals, such as if I say their name or catch their eye, and do this motion, it means:

For minor early-stage misbehaviors not covered by the above non-verbal signals, or when a student needs more than 1 nonverbal reminder, I will write a few words on a sticky note and put it on the student’s desk as I go by, without interrupting the flow of the lesson.
